PATTY MESSINA brings to her students a lifetime of riding and horse show experience. She became a professional trainer in 1989 after graduation from college.
As a junior rider, Patty competed successfully on the "A" circuit, qualifying for the prestigious Medal and Maclay finals five years in a row as well as qualifying in the junior hunter division for Devon, Harrisburg, Washington and the National Horse Show, bringing home ribbons from all. She also won a USET Bronze Medal in equitation, as well as holding two national championship titles.

As a professional, Patty has trained numerous green horses that have become "stars" in the horse world. Some of the horses she has owned herself, while others belonged to customers and students. Among her successes were: First Flight, champion in the first-year-green hunter division; Wise Guy, champion in the first-year-green division and later champion for his owner in the junior hunters; Snap Decision and Dakota, pre-green hunter champions that went on to become legends in the children's hunter and adult hunter divisions.
